Description
‘Steam Beer’, (also known as California Common) originated from San Francisco, and has two main components that define it. The first is the use of lager yeast fermented at ale temperatures. And the second is the use of Northern Brewer hops. These two components lend that slightly fruity note from the yeast and firm, rustic bitterness from the hops.
Includes: Includes grain, hops and yeast. Brewing of these recipes requires either the use of a minimum 45 litre mash tun and a 35 liter Boil pot or a 50 litre pot or urn with grain bag for BIAB, thermometer, hydrometer or refractometer and hop bag.
Fermentation Temperature Range: 16 to 20°C
