Carafa Type I Malt is a dark-roasted specialty malt made from high-quality barley. Where malt-based bitterness is not desired, Carafa Type I Malt is a  perfect fit.  As the de-husked version, it produces rich colour, body, flavour and aroma without the harsh flavours and astringency typical of dark coloured grains.
